NL Dually Certified Practitioner (NLC-P,EP)

Natural Lifemanship (NL) Certification is a comprehensive program designed for professionals seeking to integrate trauma-informed equine-assisted services into their practice. Rooted in relational neuroscience, the certification emphasizes principles over techniques, fostering individualized, healing client interactions.

Becoming NL dually certified requires completion of the following:

  • Fundamentals of NL Level 1 training

  • NL Intensive Level 2 training

  • Two group consultation series (group mentoring and case staffing) and/or equivalent

  • Eight consultations/case supervision and mentorship with NL consultants around the practitioner's caseload

  • Three "team" consultations/case supervision and mentorship sessions with an NL clinician and equine professional

  • Video assignments, which are discussed and debriefed during consultation

  • Documentation of at least 60 session hours providing the service for which one is becoming NL Certified (e.g., psychotherapy incorporating horses)

  • Maintenance of annual certification fees and continuing education

NL certification is a rigorous program offering human service professionals the training and mentorship needed to apply the Natural Lifemanship approach to effectively incorporate equines into the work they do.
